FOUNDERS STORY

Sonia Park and Troy Lawrence's journey began on the vibrant streets of Montreal, a city renowned for its rich cultural and culinary diversity. Over two decades later, they are happily married with two wonderful children and are the proud owners of Honey Bees, an “Inclusive Cultural Food Beehive” in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.

Troy, a Halifax native raised in Yarmouth, is bilingual and holds a Business degree from Acadia University, fueling his strong entrepreneurial spirit.

Sonia, born in South Korea, lived in South America, and later immigrated to Montreal, Canada. Her global experiences and business-oriented family background have endowed her with exceptional interpersonal skills and proficiency in five languages.

Despite their diverse backgrounds, Sonia and Troy form a magical partnership. Their passion for life and welcoming personalities shine through to everyone who visits their establishment. The menu at Honey Bees is inspired by Sonia’s Asian heritage, featuring a delectable selection of Japanese and Korean cuisine.

Sonia and her brother, Celebrity & Executive Chef Antonio Park, have been active in the hospitality industry for over two decades. Chef Antonio Park's influence, combined with Sonia’s diverse cultural expertise and Troy’s entrepreneurial drive, elevate the dining experience.
